How far is that between Hanoi and Halong Bay?

Halong Bay is located 160 km from Hanoi. There are 2 main roads to get to Halong. One is normal road which is original one and it will take us about 3.5 hours driving by private car transfer. The second is express way which is what my vehicle used for Private Transfer from Hanoi to Halong or from Halong to Hanoi. Our cars/vehicles always go on express way so this would take you roughly 2 hours by a private transfer between Hanoi or Noi Bai Aiport to Halong. People can either choose the shuttle bus service or Private transfer to get there.

This option is the cheapest and it is suitable for solo traveller. However, it also cause inconvenience sometimes. You must take a taxi from your hotel/location to a meeting point. And it is very crowded on the bus. If you need to have punctual schedule, we dont recommend you to take that because it takes you a lot of time and you will feel so tired.

+ By Shuttle bus

It costs you approx 15USD to 18 USD per person for one way. The 29 seater shuttle bus will pick you from your hotel, on its rounds of Hanoi picking up all customers and also transfer you back to your hotel in Hanoi after the trip. You will share the bus with other people from different hotels so the departure time will be anywhere from 8am to 9am. you need to be ready at your hotel lobby at from 8.am. It is more economic when a single person is traveling. However, it still take long time for riding because it stop on the way as fixed schedule. And sometimes its start time delayed for some unexpected reasons.
